1/2 teaspoon (2.5 ml) cayenne pepper
1 teaspoon (5 ml) paprika
1 tablespoon (15 ml) coarse salt

2 tablespoons (30 ml) olive oil
2 teaspoons (10 ml) lemon juice
2 pounds (0.90 kg) large shrimp, peeled and de-veined
8 wedges lemon, for garnish
- Preheat your grill to medium heat. Shrimp will cook quickly no matter how you do it, but grilling them takes no time at all. You want to avoid over cooking which makes them tough and dry.
- Crush the garlic and salt together iIn a small bowl. Mix in the cayenne pepper and paprika, and then stir in olive oil and lemon juice to form a grilling paste.
- Finally, toss shrimp with garlic paste in a large bowl, until evenly coated. Lightly oil the grill and cook shrimp for 2 to 3 minutes per side, or until opaque. Transfer to a serving dish, garnish with lemon wedges, and serve.
